Accumulated knowledge is passé
Learning is evolving, it is as much about the experience as the subject matter involved. Using techniques to make learning environments more engaging, immersive, and socially driven has reaped countless benefits, most importantly for learners themselves.
Using state-of-the-art techniques like blended learning, theme-based learning, collaborative or social learning, aided by educational technology (ed-tech), we are finally moving away from the world of rote learning (accumulated knowledge), with instructors engaging in chalk-and-talk delivery (traditional lecture formats) to an environment where instructors are facilitators, helping clear learner's doubts, whilst leaving the learning to the learners themselves. A win-win for all concerned.
Our mission is to campaign and help make learning more inclusive, where individual learners' learning styles and respective learning challenges are taken into account when designing and implementing courses. Inclusiveness helps ensure that learners with learning difficulties or specific needs are not singled out or stereotyped. Metacognition, or, learning how to learn, is a great way to ensure that learners are steered towards the learning approach best suited to them.
